Whether itโ€™s a keynote, breakout session, team workshop, tabletop exercise, or consulting engagement, I bring a unique perspective rooted in real-world law enforcement experience โ€” including years as an LAPD detective investigating crimes against travelers, meeting attendees, and visitors at LAX, hotels, meeting facilities, and major destination areas. Today, I use those lessons to teach business and leisure travelers how to identify risks early, travel smarter, and respond with greater confidence. I also train and consult with meeting and event professionals on how to better prepare for, mitigate, and respond to risks associated with the meetings and events they plan, manage, or support. Iโ€™m hired by Fortune 500 companies, travel management teams, associations, meeting planners, event organizers, and supplier partners who want more than a speaker who simply informs. They want someone who can entertain, connect, educate, and reshape how people think about travel safety, duty of care, and meeting and event risk management. A growing part of my work focuses on helping organizations build practical and repeatable approaches to meeting and event risk. This includes incorporating risk conversations into client meetings, site inspections, vendor discussions, emergency planning, attendee communications, and on-site operations. I also consult with organizations to enhance traveler safety programs, meeting and event risk planning, onboarding processes, risk communication strategies, policies, procedures, playbooks, and internal training. I co-lead the ASIS Travel Risk Management Community and regularly appear in national media to provide commentary on travel-related incidents. You may have seen me contributing to CNN, FOX, ABC, CBS, Inside Edition, or Oprah โ€” but my favorite work is helping people become more confident, prepared, and empowered on the road, at meetings, and during events.
